I am replacing a cab mount on my rig and would like to know if it is acceptable to bolt the replacement on. My welding skills are about a -10. I am using a repro of the orig. ford part.

Not in my Book! IMO it would not be safe.
But on the other hand I have seen things done worse than that. There must be someone you could call to do the Welding for you, might not cost that much if you do some of the preparation's such as removing the old one, cleaning and Grinding and rivet the new one in place so the guy will not have anything to do but Weld.
Use this as an opportunity to hone those welding skills. It won't be seen, so as long as you get penetration, your good. I just did my floor pans and front cab mounts on my 63 this winter. First time I'd put my little MIG to any real use. Learned some things, made some mistakes, got better. (like forget flux core use the gas!) Obviously your not going for a perfect restoration (since you discussed bolting it in), so even if your welding ain't that pretty who cares.
Don't bolt it, weld it, for safety, if you are close to me I will weld it for you.
yeah there are plently of decent welders around the fourms... you could possibly ask about it in your local chapter threads.... or give us a location...
as long as you have a good welder, i could do it for you if your in washington... {mines just barrely good enough to do mufflers...my welder, not my welds... i can lay a great bead with great penitration... after a few tests}
and welcome back to the fourms... i think im gonna go do a bit of welding and work on my BBQ lol... chicken for dinner possibly tonight LOL
If unable to find an experienced FTE member in your area should be able to find a local mobile welder, suggest give'm a call and get a couple of estimates.
