T/C Help!!

Ive been reading a lot in the last few days about every aspect of my truck and its gotten me to the point to think I can change my own tranny fluid and filter. Its almost gotten long overdue but not too bad. My question is I read somewhere that when you drain the fluid from the torque converter you need to replace the "plug" that you take out. I found a part # someone had listed and went to the local stealership. I first told them I needed a plug for my TC and they looked at me like I had grown horns. They couldnt "find" any plug for the 1st 5 minutes I was there and I finally said look this PN up I had and they said it was a rubber plug of some sort for the TC housing. Is this the right plug and because its made of rubber is that why you need a new one?! I dont think the last place I took it drained anything other than the pan and this time I want to get as much as the old fluid out as I can.

Any suggestions, tips, or techniques I may need...am I on the right track with this rubber plug? I plan on doing this job Tuesday and hopefully I can get the part in by then!

Thanks in advance!

Oh yea, I have a 2000 F250 4x4.
