i just recently purchased a 8 inch skyjacker lift for my 95 f-150 351 and i realised that i have a bad problem with axlewrap.... and i couldnt find any one who will make a traction bar for my kinda truck and lift.. i just need some advice on how to make them.. i hear they are not that complicated. if anyone knows how to do it please info me
With an eight inch lift you want "ladder" bars and not "slappers". Slappers are the kind that you see where they connect under the axel, and run along the length of the spring. There they make contact with the spring perch by use a rubber bushing. With an eight inch lift I doubt you could even get a slapper close.
Ladder bars are different in that they do not run under the spring. They also get a little tricky when it comes to setting them up properly. Ladder bars clamp to the axel and then bolt onto a support mounted under the bed. You can order a set from Summit Racing. With the long wheel base of a truck I would get the longest set I could, but call their tech line for the best fit/length ratio.
You can always make a custom 4 link, I have seen many people make their own-they are rather simple and a custom set with your 8 inch lift should work nicely.
