wouldnt your milage accumalate less with bigger tires.if so you just extended your warrenty by x% because of the non correction.Right?
Yes but my truck is just about out of warranty. I replaced the stock tires as they wore out...went to what are essentially 33" tires with no lift...looks really good this way. I checked my speed with a GPS and I am reading 2mph low...probably not worth worrying about.

I too have 285/75R16's which are around 32.8 inches tall. Stock was 31.6.
My speedo is now about 1 MPH low at 60MPH. Not enough to care about.
Just think how far it was off (on the high side) BEFORE the tires
For liability reasons, most car makers have 3%-5% error on the high side built in. This is to keep you from suing or claiming liability to the car manufactures for your lead foot and speeding tickets.
compared to a lil 4banger no, but I can get 19mpg+ on the highway with 35" tires. Plus I like to know if my mpg starts to drop of significantly as this would be a sign that something is not working properly.
