Does it take awhile to notice a difference when running 2cyl oil? I would assume it should just take as long as it takes for the "treated" fuel to get up to the injectors...
I know for one that i can tell a big difference in running reg diesel and just the 5% bio blend i run. I purchase the bio blend every chance i get, love it. It quiet,s up the motor, runs smoother, better mileage for me. I run some D-K and howes in it every once and a while...
I have B20 available where I am, and have run much of it. I, too, enjoyed the quieting effect on the engine, but I just could no longer stand the LOSS of about 1mpg, especially since the one station selling it got wind of the popularity and started charging more for it than regular deisel. I'll stick with my Opti-Lube ULX additive for the lubricity gains it provides, which is better than all of the other additives except for the bioDiesel.
I've read through this post and am wondering what the 2 cycle would do for mine. I live in Alaska and wonder if I should run the DK in the winter and 2 cycle in the summer? Or what about the possibility of running both? Overkill? Also, some dude at the parts store told me one time that DK is crap and that it dries out the injectors so I should use Stanadyne. Not sure which way to go. Opinions?

Same here. Plus that damage that I have seen from substandard bio fuels at work really scares me off from using any at all for now.
Except I just use DK gray bottle.
Here is what I am going to start using, Opti Lube. Diesel Fuel Improver
A supposedly non bias study was done at the Diesel Place - Duramax Diesel Discussion Forums Very interesting study I was having trouble linking to it but you can find it on their web site. Many of the additives I though t were good and have been using are worthless. I have some Opti Lube summer blend on order. Very cost efficent too .68 cents per 26 gallon tankful. What what I gather it is a new product.
I use that 2 cycle oil from wally world in my snowmobile and it works just as well as the arctic cat brand that is far more expensive. I wonder if running in my PSD would hurt anything as far as sensors or any of that stuff or if it will pick up some fuel milage. Any thoughts?
NO, I do not think that would be any improvement whatsoever. I have tried it myseklf though. Using chaisaw oil. I did not get scientific results as they did here of course> Lubricity Additive Study Discussion - Diesel Place
