It went up that much to pay for the CEO's big pay day.. These guys should not get an extra dime, but most have lucrative contracts ..

They need to be held accountable..

Bill, We are all going to pay for all of this bailout crap. Watch taxes in the future. This whole deal is to Transfer our sovereign wealth of this Country over to an International System. That will be completely run by the Federal Reserve. Watch for tons of new laws coming that will force even Credit Unions to conform to.

I'm disappointed in all the bailouts. Let them go under. Let the market work. More pain to come because of government intervention.

I thought when things got like this, the Wall Street types were supposed to jump out the window. Must be they are too busy raking in the $$ while passing on the bill for all of this to the taxpayer.

Krewat brought it up yesterday in his fannie mae thread yesterday.....

This isn't simply a bailout.....The government is 'buying' a stake in the company on the order of 80%, and operating that like a private business for profit.....

Socialism

Corporate welfare...it happened with Chrysler in the 80s.

This probably isn't the last time it will happen. Could be Ford and GM will be involved in the future...near future at that.

i dont think so just because they have the ability to slash jobs and close plants and sell off a brand or 2 in vehicles to get cash.............but i guess you never know, all i know is that you cant keep posting multi million dollar losses every qtr, every year

cmpd1781 your right. Its the gov takeover of private business. Its just socialism in its purest from or as we called it when I was a kid Communism.Every time a business becomes gov run we lose more freedoms. Let the markets take these companies. Don't bail any of them out. Its not the governments job to make sure a business grows or fails.

Well. Art led me to it....I didn't catch it at first.

I've been smacking him in the 'Palin' thread. Gotta make sure to give credit where it is due.......

I'd ask that everyone follow the $$$$. See who was at the top of these Crapholes, who they contribute to politically(in order of dollars), and when they got the jobs...It'll scare you.
Not to mention who's in charge of regulating them!
