for a couple of months now i've noticed the passanger side rear of my 06 ranger is sitting lower than the driver side im going to replace the shock's on it tomorrow is there anything else i should look at while im down there?
note. the front shocks are OK
wow if a leaf spring broke on an '06 .. i would take it right to Ford and see what they say. to my mind that would be most unusual. maybe one of the hangers or shackles busted.. again very unusual.
why not take a look underneath and see if anything is broken.
I bought the truck from eastern moters back in jan08 and so far the battery front brake caliper and rear shocks were bad and they wanted me to pay out the nose for mistakes they made by using infereror parts or writing defective parts as good
the passanger side rear shock was not up to my specs when it made noises and did not fully extend when i unbolted it from the axle driver side was good
i've looked at the leaf springs on passanger side and nothing looks busted but the springs look like they have shifted some the shacles have some rust around the rivets on the frame and cracked bushings
I took it over to a body shop behinde where i work they discovered its not the springs but a shime is missing they said it wasn't important to operation but it was important to looks without it my bed is going to sag a little
Any pictures of the shim and placement? Does it make it look lopsided?
Hmmm......
