Does anybody have the 7700 payload group option? I would like to hear how it compares to the standard payload groups on F150s in reference to hauling and towing.
Thanks.
I wish! I ordered a plain jane F-150, and it came with the 7700 decal on it... Thought I got lucky there, but alas, it was just a screwup on their end..
Wanted a Superduty but Ford didn't offer attractive financing. Got the next best thing. The 7700 package. It rides better than my old F250 LD, carries more and with the 5.4 V8 the mileage is better. There is no noticable difference between the 6600 and this one until you put some toys in the box. However I have yet to find someone to explain the exact frame differences to me. I can't tell. This package also came with larger brakes and ABS. I believe even when not towing my tractor on the trailer that the extra brakes cannot hurt. 4 wheel disks haul it down real quick. The wheels have the 7 bolt pattern. Maybe hard to find aftermarket rims but thats not me anyway. The nice part is that it is only the little emblem below the F150 on the tailgate that lets the world know this is a heavy duty truck.

My fatherinlaw owns such a truck and I own a regular F150. The 5.4L is a nice pulling engine which seems to get the same mileage whether it is pulling a load or not. He pulls a 22' fifth wheel with a 14' alum boat behind it and other than the wind blowing, its hard to tell you have anything behind you! He goes about 500 km's on a tank full compared to my 550km's with my 4.2L V6. Boy did I make a mistake buying the small engine for fuel mileage, that diference is not worth it to me. The biggest diference to me between the two trucks is the ride when not loaded. Mine runs like a car and his actually rides like a stake truck but I guess that is to be expected.
