f-150 cv axel

this weekend while driving through a ditch I probably should have found a way around I broke my front right CV assembly or hub Assembly. I'm not sure yet what exactly broke but there were several large ball bearings that flew out when it broke. Has this happened to anyone else? If it is just the CV Assembly that broke does the hub need to be replace because the Axel was bouncing around. any thoughts would be great.

I would think that as long as the splined end of the axle stayed in the hub/bearing assembly, it should be fine. Check the end of the axle housing where the axle inner joint flange bolts up, make sure that's all intact.
