I am a Greenbay Packers fan and wife is a Vikings fan too. So football rivalry is strong at our house.

Just saying Iowa has a larger financing, so they can compete harder to get the better players. SDSU is a great school, just doesn't have the athletic draw to be able to compete evenly... If Brookings could pull the higher end players the same way, it could be a totally different story. Simply put, the money is better at Iowa for many reasons, so they are better able to recruit. Some of it is program, some is location, most is all about the money... Different conferences, and for those kind of reasons. Most of the players at Iowa are not locals, but from all over the country, as well as the world.

It's funny, I live about 40 miles from Vermillion and never hear a word about football... guess that tells you how important it is to the school!
Hey Ryan, what'd you think of the whole Brett Favre mess at Green Bay? It's just weird seeing him play for the Jets. Personally, I think he should have just stayed retired, I'd hate to see him go down hill and be second or third string.

Sundays game against the Lions was great. and GB has the makings for a great season. The best part was the Jets loosing.
When Elway retired from the Broncos in 98. He earned his superbowl ring and was still a great player but left on a high note. Farve has had a great career and his ring. I think I would want to retire on a high note and not become a washout or sellout or anything like that.
