I posted this in the transmission, axle forum and didn't get any replies. I came across a 1980 F-350 SRW 4x4 that is for parts. The engine, transmission and transfer case are all missing. I was wondering what the TTB front end and the rear end would be worth. I think the guy wants $100 for both axles with springs and spring hangers included. I thought about converting my 2wd F-150 to 4x4. I would rather have a dana 60 monobeam front axle, but I think the TTB would basically be a bolt in conversion. I also found a '80-'86 F-250 light duty 4x4 at the same place which i think could be bought for around $400. So I also thought about buying that truck and putting the F-350 axles under it. I would like to have a 4x4 farm truck that i could also use in truck pulls.
If it's an F-350, it has solid axles up front, d60s. If it's a light duty F-250 than it has a TTB d44 up front. If it's a supercab or heavy duty F-250 it's a d50 up front with bigger brakes and hubs.

88' F-250 Heavyduty 4x4 351/c6

80' E-350 300/6 with a
3 spd column shifter. Weighs around 7,000lbs w. 65mph top speed, who wants to race me!
I know that the newer F-350's have a solid dana 60 front axle, but this is a 1980 F-350 with a TTB frontend. What are the F-350 axles and the F-250LD 4x4 worth?
The old 350s came with TTBs? wow, sorry my mistake.

Yeah this one has a TTB, It is the second one that I have seen. I had an uncle who had a '80 F-350 with a TTB frontend. I used to think that all trucks 80 and up had TTB until I started noticing that '87 and newer F-350s with solid front axles.
Well, I guess you learn something new everyday, sorry to be of no help.

You said you want it for farm pulls, so I assume you want something really strong. The light duty F-250 TTB is simply a dana 44 with leaf springs vs the F-150s coil springs. I'm not 100% sure what the 350 back then was, but i bet it's stronger, so if those parts are in good shape, I'd say go for the 350 parts in the F-150. Now if you want the 250 and put the 350 parts in it, than sure if you don't want your 90' F-150 to have 4x4. So basically the choice is yours but if they are in decent shape those are cheap.

I didn't think it was that bad of a price, but, I wanted another opinion. My original plan was to use the F-350 axles under my F-150, and then use the C-6 and transfer case from the F-250LD since that was missing on the F-350. If I ever get the time and extra money I might go ahead and try to do the conversion.
