Rear bumper sensor

Can I put on a ford bumper with back up sensor, or do I have to go after market.
What about wire harness issues

Aftermarket would be the easiest way to go. With the OE, you will need the sensors, harness, dash switch and to program the BCM to run it.

There are some nice aftermarket units. Echomaster was one of the top models we could find several years ago. You could run the system with either 2 or 4 sensors, depending on the field you want to sense. Then the brain box gets mounted and the beeper is separate with a switch on it to mute it. there was an option display to tell you where the object was.

Hoppy had a hitch step, I think it was wireless. If it was, then you just put it in the hitch, plug it into the 7way plug and mount the receiver.

Since then, there are several more manufactures. Two words of warning, first once you start using one, you'll love it. The other is I got a little complacent with it and dinged the bumper slightly because the grass hadn't been cut in a few days and I didn't watch closely where I was going.
