I have an 86 F250 with manual locking hubs. Is a good way to check them, lock the hub and jack up that wheel and attempt to turn? I still have the factory hubs and the left front hub lever is slightly cracked. Second of all, is there a specific hub that I need to purchase for my application, I have no idea what axles I have.
So:
how to check
how to order new ones

The front axle in your truck is either the light duty dana44HD-IFS which has 19 splines or the heavy duty Dana 50-IFS which has 30 splines. If your hubs are bad, count the splines on your axles and see what axle you have.If it has 19 splines order dana 44 hubs; if it has 30 splines, order dana 60 hubs (the dana 50 uses dana 60 everything from the spindle out)
If you have a supercab, it's a dana 50. Also, if it has an 8600lbs GVWR then it's a D50 and has a full floating 10.25 out back. That GVWR is listed on the sticker on the door jam.
Primary rig is Green Thunder:
95' F-150 XLT 4x4, 302, 5 spd, MSD 6A, Flowmaster American Thunder Exhaust, Sunroof, Clear corners w/ Diamond headlights, CD player with 2 10" subs and some 32" BFG Muds .
That's it for mods now, saving for a Stang. Check out my Gallery for a look-see.
I have 8 lugs on front and rear axles. The rear has an additional 6 or so bolts on the rear center axle cover? I have not looked at my sticker lately. I am having the rear axle seals replaced as well as a rear brake job. I jacked up the front end and locked each hub one at a time. They rotated the axle and unlocked properly.

Ok I have the 8600 GVWR so that means that I have the heavy duty axles. That is a Dana 50 in front and 10.25 full floater rear? What other things that I don't know about are included in the 8600 GVWR package? I dont know what Transfercase I have, I think it is the Borg Warner but I am not sure. It is manually activated by lever on the floor.
Thanks for the response.

HD61cuin, I have the same truck as you 86 F250 8600 GVWR. Mine has the NP208 transfer case. It has a circular green tag that says NP 208 on it. I'm not sure how to identify the BW case.
My borg warner TC says what it is right on it. Mines a 13-56 though. The rear axle is a full floating sterling 10.25" axle, the front is a dana 50. Doesn't get any more complicated then that.
