So since the swap my '00 has done some funky stuff with the tranny.
Several times now upon start up, with a shift into reverse... nothing. But not exactly. There's 'friction' present as in when I rev the motor the truck moves, not moves moves, but sorta feels like it's trying to move. Same thing into neutral, friction but it won't roll down the driveway like it's neutralled out. It's not 'free' it's hung up so to speak. Then into drive and it's all good, shift from there to reverse and voila, I'm backing up.
Brian tends to thinks it's in the cable assembly. If not the lack of electronics. He wants to refresh it since I've considerably upped the anty on the horses, that and I've complained about the converter.
I just wonder if it's the lack of electronics causing this, or if it's indeed the cable assembly. I understand the lack of Cummins powered trucks here, but if you've had a shifting problem consistant with mine please chime in; or have had cable assembly issues and this sounds relevant, again, please chime in.
You ever drank Bailey's from a shoe?
You wanna go to a club where people wee on eachother?
Hmm, i know jeremy had to splice alot of the wires to wires in the harness for the PCS controller (i'm assuming youre using that, right?). Did you splice in only the necessary wires to get the trans to work, and then leave a bunch of extra wires not connected?
I would agree that it could be in the cable since reverse is mechanically controlled by the Manual Valve spool. There are no electronics involved in the reverse shift other than the DTR sensor for shifter position by the PCM and back up light operation.
Kris, when I say no electronics, I mean it. No PCS, shifted manually (or not, it'll shift itself, not the way I want it to). Haven't bothered because as soon as the adapter is made the Lenco's going in. But the bubba is going in the '99 unless therinlies an issue. Then it'll go to Brian's first.
