its not that bad depending on what you have to start with.
the best is to get a complete vehicle to start with and a good wiring diagram for that vehicle. if you got the complete wiring harness and wiring diagram it is just a matter of tracing what wires you need to hook up and where and eliminating the ones you don't.
not sure on the 5.8, but there are lots of aftermarket wiring harness's for the 5.0 meant just for swaps. they are by what i have read, fairly simple to install and wire (of course depending on manufacturer, some have better instructions and diagrams then others).
it is by all acoounts not that tough of a swap but it is best to start with as complet of a vehicle as you can.
