computer help for 95 5.8l lightning

computer help for 95 5.8l lightning

im putting this engine in a 65 f100. im not wanting to use the E4OD tranny or say i cant use it ti big to fit in my truck. i need to know how to get around the computer looking for the tranny. any help would be great.

There are a couple of system switches that can be changed to make the ECU think it's in neutral all the time, then it wont look for the transmission. There may be a couple of pins that could be jumped, from the MLPS harness possibly, which would essentially do the same thing.

just did some looking. what about doing a mass air conversion using 88-93 mustang computer wich is a stand alone system.

A9L is a stand alone mass air computer with no trans control. It has a "sister" computer that is the same and has the code of A3M.

What trans are you going with now?

the A9P will also work. just so you know the lightning computer may be looking for the tranny but will not cause any driveability issues with it not being there. but i think going to a mustang mass air harness and computer would work best regardless and probably fit the engine bay nicely as well.
