Does anyone have any suggestions on RV campgrounds with full hookups in the Savannah, Ga area. We are going to go down there this coming April. And what is the weather that time of year. It has to be warmer than Michigan at the beginning of April.
I haven't been there, but I watched a camping program that talked about Tybee Island campground http://www.cityoftybee.org/Campground.aspx. It looks like it is a nice place.
I've never been to savannah but have heard many good things. However if you arent dead set on savannah you might want to consider charleston, sc. Its not that far from there, theres lots of things to do and see, the area is great and safe and the local county runs an excellent campground. you can check it out at Charleston County Parks and Recreation
i have been there quite a few times and cant wait to go back! Charleston is neat place and the campground is modern, has pull thru full hookup sites and has a neat waterpark and pool as long as many other things for the family! check it out
hope this helps!
In the same general area is a state park called Hunting Island, although they do not have sewer hookups. Scenes from Forest Gump were supposedly filmed around there, and the wildlife will visit your campsite, the kids really enjoyed the deer, and being right on the beach. We were also able to see several sea turtle nests.
For the weather - since you're from MI, I would say it would be a heat wave for you - air temps will be inthe hi 70's to mid 80's during the day and probably 50's at night. The water temps will still be a little cool (maybe hi 60's F).
If you've never been to Savannah, then you're in for a treat - it's a really cool place to visit with lots of history. It's also an easy day trip to Charleston, SC - yet another cool place.
