valvoline high milage 10w30 motorcraft filter. Some people think the high milage stuff is a gimic and it may be but my truck likes it. Burns about half with it verses regular 10w30
Ya already got your feet wet, might as well jump in & go Synth. Add a can of Seafoam Engine Treatment just prior to change to remove contaminant build up deposits. Synth. motor oil at 100% is Superior in every way except 1. The physical properties that allow it to perform so well in all other aspects is also the cause of it's 1 short coming, which is limited lubrication of upper engine components at initial start up. So add 1 Qrt. of Lucas Synth. Oil Stabilizer and that will more than make up for that.
I use a motorcraft filter and valvoline 10w-30 premium conventional oil on a 185,000 mile351w. But my truck hates valvoline high milage or anything other semi-sythetic or full synthetic. Anyone run into severe leaks or power loss with synthetic?
My truck...Valvoline 10W-30 conventional and FL-1A filter...works great. My Mustang...Mobil 1 10W-30 full synthetic and FL-1A..works great too. Mustang has been on synthetic for the 17 years I have owned it and has 107K on it, did head swap about a year ago and stuff inside was like new...beautiful..wouldn't change a thing. Also wouldn't run my truck on it. Has 140K on it, been conventional always and don't need to create leaks that don't exist now (a damp gasket will be a leaky gasket when introduced to synthetic). Have seen it repeatedly along the way in other people's stuff. Also, there is no way I would ever use Seafoam in an engine ever for any reason..fuel maybe but not in oil period but is just my .02 worth. Same deal...based on previous observations.
