Question Front hub ?

I plan on installing a new front hub tommorrow. I have the stuff i need however i was wondering about the nut behind the 4x4 hub. Is that nut hard to get off and what did you use to remove it. I have the snap ring pliers, and the rest of the tools. Also what size are the 4 flange buts that hold the hub on? thanks Jeff

There is no nut behind the lock-out, only the snap ring. The hub assembly is held on by 4 studs/nuts. You get to them from the inside of the knuckle and they're 13/16 or 21MM. Which should be the same as the caliper bolts.

Those washers and the thing that looks like a nut are spacers, thake a magnet and get them out. You are replacing the unit bearing, make sure it comes with studs already installed. Let us know how it goes, it's not a hard job.

The unit bearing is what is carring the load, and you can't rebuild it, just replace it , the needle bearing is on the back side of unit bearing and can be replaced. The needle bearing does nothing if you have lock out hubs, if your axle's are turning than the axles are turning inside the needle bearing. When locked in four wheel drive or if your axles won't set still in 2 wheel drive.
