It's been 7 years. Take yourself back to that day. Remember the vulnerability, sadness, and violation you felt. You owe it to yourself, your countrymen, and the victims. Take a moment out of your day today to think about the families of the victims, their friends, our troops, and anyone else affected by 9/11. Take a good hard look at the flag today, and think about what it means to you. Have a meaningful day today.
I leave you with a memory that, as I type, brings tears to my eyes. -->
As I drove to work this morning, I thought about what has transpired over the last 7 years.
While it's hard to believe that 7 years have passed so quickly, we still have a LOT of work to do, to prevent this type of thing from happening, again.
For the longest time, we Americans (whether we want to admit it, or not) had thought that "It can't happen here", but, it did, and it showed us just how 'flat-footed' we WERE.
We are still the greatest country on earth. I am taking NOTHING away from any of our friends and neighbors when I say that, either.
In closing this post, I want to thank the men and women of our Armed Forces, Active or Retired, or Former members, for their service to America.
And to those who has lost a loved one in defense of our country, thank you for your sacrifice. Your loved one paid the ultimate price for freedom.
