I've found a 6g alternator I can buy cheap. The part number is 90-02-5093, which I'm pretty sure is for a crown vic and uses different mounting points than our trucks. But the back half of the cases seem to be the same and they both use the gray regulators. Does anyone know if I can swap the front case half to get the right mounting points? I've swapped the cases around a lot on a 3G alternator for my bronco just dont know if it works on the 6gs.
Well I cant answer your question, but I can give you a phone number of someone who should be able to answer this. In my HO/voltage regulated/multiple alternator systems Ive had to put together, and then install, Ive had good success talking, and ordering from Nations Auto Electric. They are very good at answering questions, and helping you to get parts, or anything you could need in this field. Their phone number is 1-888-334-2632

Thanks for the link to Nations, they were very helpful. The cases wont swap though. The crown vic case is like 9mm bigger in diameter. He did tell me though that they were coming out with a new 6G for our trucks at the end of the month thats some type of hybrid design thats supposed to be the best thing out there in the way of alternators
