Looking for DP program advice

Ok, so I spoke to Jody and I am going to proceed with the F5 instead of an F6. I am going with the 60 tow, 80 econ, and then am debating on the 120. These are the programs that we discussed, and I know the first 2 will be a definite, but how many of you have and use the 120 setting? How does this setting compare to the 80 econ? I don't plan on doing to much more to my truck so I am debating on this last one. Will I kick myself later down the road if I don't get it now? Oh, and the programs I plan to get are the no code ones. Is this the way to go? Thanks guys, and I'm sure I'll have more ?s as we go.

I have the 120 program and very rarely ever use it. Partially because the hpop can't keep up with it, but mainly because I don't have to. The 140 aggressive gets used way more than the 120 does. Nothing like rolling a little smoke on some dumb head in there LSV riding my butt, makes'em back off pretty fast and stay back.
The 60 tow, and the 80 econ will do just fine for what you are looking for.

On a stock injectored truck there is virtually no difference between 80 and 120. Go with the 140 instead, thats a noticeable difference!

Looking at your list of mods, you will want to at least consider a 4" exhaust,(or perhaps 5") to go with your DP. Not that you need it right now, but it will help with egt's, and sound better too!

I do a little towing so I got the DECEL tune. It defuels, locks the TC and closes the EBPV. Great for downgrades. I also got a tune that locks the TC so when dropping down from OD to 3rd and back into OD the TC stays locked. No "shift flare". That tune works in my Stock, 60T, 80E or 120 position. High Idle is also good when running a large electrical load at idle, such as a winch or jump starting another vehicle.

The tc lock up does sound like a good feature. Is that programmed to always work on the tunes, or do you select it?
When you guys use the 140, how long do you leave it in that tune? Just a little while i guess?
Thanks

I have the stock, high idle, 80tow, 80econo, 120r. Mine rarely leaves the 80tow setting. I prefer the smooth pedal of the 80tow, over the slightly (IMO) jumpy beginning of the pedal in the 80 econo. I just feel the 80tow is smoother, so thats what Ive been DDing since I got the DP. Other then 80 tow, I well, dont use anything else haha.

Getting ready to send mine back in for some changes. Drop the 40 tow and the 120 race. Have the 80 tow, Decel, TC Lockup, Lope, and Drive thru tunes. As strokin_it said, there isn't much difference between the 80 and 120.

SO does the tc lock help with longevity as to the life of the trans? Does it have any affect on the rpms?

Robin, I have a TC lock up LED and my TC stays locked from 38-70+MPH, regardless of whether I'm in 3rd or 4th down shifting or not. Now I still think this due to the dp, but I have no special progarming for this..

I asked Jody for this and had to send him my PCM to get it done, only because I had an XLE4 and he didn't. Did you have the TC lock up LED before you had your DP. If so could you see it unlock and relock between OD and 3rd?

Unlocking and relocking is unnecessary and must cause some extra heat but I doubt that this TC lock program extends tranny life in any appreciable way. But the torque converter control solenoid doesn't get such a workout. The less unlocking and relocking the better.

As for RPMS, once it's locked and not slipping RPMS should not change for a given speed.

Got a question for you Dave. What do you mean by "no code ones"?
