shackle flip

did you drop the whole spring when you did it or just the rear hanger?
install the front spring hanger bolt then lift the rear of the spring to theshackle and you should be able to pivot the shackle to the spring eye also it is alot easier if you have the axle unbolted from the leaf springs if you didn't do that already. when i did mine all I unbolted was the rear spring mount and the shackle along with the u-bolts holding the springs to the axle.

my axle is completly outa my truck because im installing the 14bolt. so thats not in the way at all. i guess ill undo the rear, bolt up the front first then try for the rear of the spring next and see how that goes. damn school, if it wasnt for that i would be done faster.

shackle flip

I did a shackle flip in my 71 f100. I used front spring hagers from a donor truck and replaced the rears with them. Then did the flip gained 3-5" of lift . I also had to drill out the rivets. If you use the rear hangers you will only gain about 1 3/4 " of lift not enough to eliminate blocks.

Whos to say you can run the rears and weld up your own shackles to fit your taste? That is my goal. Use some thick plate and tack tack tack.....you got it....

i could, but this axle swap has taken a ridiculous amount of time due to the shackle ordeal, so im just forgetting it for now and getting my truck running again.
