az has been known to have junk alts..have heard of guy's going 3 or 4 before getting a good one....did they test that one for you when you bought it???
Thanks for the suggestions. This morning I went out to check things out. I just bought this truck to haul a heavier fifth wheel so hadn't double checked some things. Both batteries are brand new and when I reached up to check the cables - you guessed it. I could lift the cables on the passenger side off the battery. I tightened them down and OILA! (that's really a French word, not like what some of you guys call "french") the truck cranked right up.
I just love it whens it simple and I remembered to start there first.
Glad to hear the fix was simple....many times the solution is the simple one, but we tend to look for the complicated fix.
Regarding the starter. I recently had mine to go out and ended up going with that high torque unit from D&B Electrical with I think 13 teeth. This starter bolts right in place, but was a close fit at the front end of starter and only takes approx. one hour from start to finish. This starter will really turn the engine over....I like mine very much.
They were very prompt with shipping and the shipping charge was $15 for that monster of a starter.
