muffler delete

anyone done a muffler delete but left the cats on a v10? just thinking about the idea

Ouch...I personally wouldn't recommend it on an Excursion. it will droooooone and that'll get old real quick.

I just changed my muffler. The old one rusted out. The droooone was horrible. Even in a F250 it was bad. I would not do it.
Besides the performance benefit would not be there. You need some back pressure in the V10. Unless yours is modified to the MAX?? Just get a performance exhaust and be done with it.

ok thanks for the input... how about removing the cats and running 3" pipe to a aerochamber or something and keeping the tailpipe?

It has one cat, and removing it is illegal.

i removed the muffler on mine. i bought a y and then ran duels out the back. i think it sounds really good. the muffler shop messed up and put duel 2.25 pipes in instead of 2.5. it has a nice pop to it when its cold and ive gotten a few complements on how it sounds.
