Again, you're referring to your industry, but spreading that to 'tech support', general innovation, and part fabrication.
Tech support in our own country typically involves a snotty person on the end of the phone accusing you of being the problem. Luckily, for them, I didn't have to deal with Chinese tech support, because my mandarin is harsh on it's best day.
As for 'Consumer Goods' again, you're lumping everything in one massive pile. Cell phones are consumer goods, and the cell phones there are miles beyond what most american consumers use on a daily basis. They've had dual sim cellphones for years and the only ones here in the states are imports from China.
I understand that you pretty much have to bash Chinese business because you're an american business rep. But honestly you're painting with a broad brush. You wouldn't want someone painting all Americans or American Business with a broad brush would you?
Looks pretty good, but you should come up with some sort of shielding to keep it from drawing in hot air. That somewhat defeats the purpose.
You are right, I shouldn't generalize nationalities. I would still however prefer to buy my products from American companies if possible.
Yeah, I'm somewhat torn between making a shield myself, and waiting till I replace that filter with a K & N and seeing what I can do with a better filter.
Also, Injen makes an airshield filter that could do the job as well.
I am currently using a Volant system that uses the fender opening and seen my IAT's drop 10 degrees and more compared to my old Airaid with a heat shield. Those open elements do well when the engine is cold or long highway trips, but in the city you lose a good amount of power from the hot air the engine produces.
I recommend steering clear of the K&N kits. The oil from the filter fouls the MAF and the filtering efficiencies of the K&Ns is terrible.
Volant is good, as is AFE, and Airraid. If you are looking for a better kit in the future, I recommend one of those. I am especially impressed with the AFE ProdryS series.
Anyone have experience with a True Flow sealed intake system? Looks like a decent compromise between better flow, and still using the stock cylinder and intake for cold air, but new filter.
