front end shimmy

2006 F350 sd. With both the factory continentals tires and my new 10 ply good year wrangler silent armor tires Iget alot of bounce or shake and the steering wheel almost comes oiut of your hands over minor bumpy roads. Has anyone else had this? I only got 23000 out of the stock tires

Hi There,
I'm not sure what specifically were dealing with but if the front tires have any kind of lug pattern;I would certainly look at the majority of the lugs to see if most all of them are wearing the same/identical.
Things to be looking for if you have not allready ruled this out would be,uneven wear of the lugs from side to side and all the way around the tire.Second would be look and see if the lugs are different depths some may be worn moreso than other lugs on the tire(cupping) which would create tire chatter/shake.
If the tires are treading good and even then your alignment probably is o.k.
It may be one or more of these bad shock(s),bent or bad tierod(s),bent stabalizer bar, bent warped rim/wheel.
From what you have briefed us on.I could only take a step towards a suspension problem.
If your tires pull to the right or left then I would lean towards bad tires and/or aligment also suspension parts such as shocks, tierodsand stabilizer bar.
Goodluck

Maybe those wranglers have seen some offroad fun in the sun

i had a problem not as bad as yours but irritating. My tires would wear wrong and they would tell me nothing was wrong. Well i discovered when i changed shocks the problem went away never to return.

Do a search for "death wobble". It has been covered in here many times, and there are many different things to try to fix it.

Replace your steering damper, mine was shot at 30,000 when i bought my truck used and it made a world of difference. I also replaced my shocks with the Edelbrok IAS's which helped.
