Questions about C6 trans
anyway, I finally bought a 1990 F-250. The guy I bought it off of took the factory 351 out and installed a 460 and a C6 trans. My problem is with the transmission.
I went under the truck the other day and noticed the outer seal is bad on the end of the trans, and im not worried about that because if im not mistaken I can just take a small pick pull it out, and tap in a new one.
My problem is with the trans mount it self. it seems as if the tail housing of the trans is something other then what i've seen for a C6 trans. I've tried searching over and over and couldnt find a think about what I have.
I have included a picture of what Im talking about with a "paint" drawing.
The red box is what I do NOT have on my tail housing...where the blue box shows where about the mounting holes are on my trans. The odd thing is the mounting holes appear to be on a 30-45% angle. If anyone could help me out that would be great.

Also...If no one knows what this is or what its from...Can i take the tail section off the trans still in the truck? I have a welding shop I can take it too to make me a mount on it.
Thanks

You can swap the extension housing with another much easier than having anything welded on it.
Measure it and get another.
What is being used for a rear mount?
Now for my next question. Where can I find the extension housing I need and how much do they go for usually?
Also...Are there different lengths or they all the same? and lastly...are they as simple as unbolting, and changing out and bolting them back up or no?
Thanks
Nothing will fall out when the housing is removed, just a bunch of fluid.
You may be able to fabricate some form of mount.
For locating one you will probably be better off at a transmission shop.
