truck troubles

my 86 is giving me trouble for the first time ever. every once in a while when i try to turn it on, it'll just sit there clicking. i don't know if its my starter, fuel pump. i don't know where to start.

thnaks guys

Usually clicking is the solenoid fluttering because it doesn't have enough power to engage. Start with your battery terminals. Good chance the problem is right there. Then check your cables, especially the other side of the ground cable. Keep working downstream from there. I'd put money on the battery terminals, but I'm too broke to bet.

My money is also on the solenoid. Or, perhaps the battery isn't charged?

I'm new here, but I'd have the battery checked. I just replaced the one in my '86 F-150 which had the same symptoms. I'd charge the battery or start with the charger, but the battery probably had one bad cell.
