Dana 60

Does anyone know if a Dana 60 from a 99 superduty will fit a 1997 F250HD. I thought I heard it will not.:-)

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 23-Nov-02 AT 00:51 AM (EST)]Yes it will fit. However you will need to grind about 1/2 inch of material off the housing so the springs will fit. We put one in a 97 F250.
BTW, it's not a 60 is it's out of a 99. It's a 50.

i would try to find one from the 86?-97's.....preferably a king pin axle. I just hate them stupid sealed unit wheel bearings on the superduty's.

I know I read somewhere that you can get a Dana 60 with a superduty but only on a dully. Maybe thats wrong.

That was true of the 99's and a little later. The only way to get the 60 front end was in a DRW truck. All SRW trucks came with Dana 50's

yea, starting in 2002 i think...all of the superdutys have 60 fronts
