Tuning vacuum secondaries

I just bought a 570 street avenger and so far everything has been good. The only issue is at around 3500 rpm there is a pretty big hit. Is this a sign that i need to use a heavier or lighter spring?

What does a big hit mean? You should not feel anything when the secondaries kick in. What kind off vehicle is this? what size engine?

it is on a relatively stock 360 which is in a 76 f100 with 3.00 gears. By a hit i mean you can feel a jump around 3500 rpms.

If it is bogging a bit @ 3500, then it is opening too fast and a slightly heavier spring is needed.
