dual tanks switching prob

have a 93 f-150 dual tanks
running off of rear tank now if i switch to front tank
motor dies
what do you guys think?

Fuel pump probably. My rear tank is the same way so I only run on the front one.

Put the tank switch on the front tank and turn the key to the on position (don't start). Listen to hear if the front pump primes. If it doesn't, you've got a bad switch connection or (more likely) a bad pump in the front tank.

Sorry for the dumb question here but is there a separate pump for each tank, thought there was one pump for both?

Separate pumps for separate tanks. On the gassers anyway not sure how diesel pumps work.
