fuel filter housing

I have a 2001 Power Stroke sense it was new. shortly after I bought it a squirrel ate through the two sets of wires going to the fuel filter.I took the connectors apart and removed the bad section of wires then put the connector back together, every things fine for a while, then all of a sudden the truck dies. I then unplug and plug back in the bottom set of wires again every thing fine for a while. The questions I have are , what are these tow set of wires for, can you buy just the electric connector ends without buying the whole harness

Welcome to the club beardog. Those wires are for the water in fuel sensor. Im not to sure if you can buy the plug on the end. Some one else will chime in shortly.

I'd say leave it unplugged. Mine is because of a common issue with the heater in the bowl blowing fuse .............20?

I should have one of the connectors lying in a pile that is my stock harness if you need it. I think there should be plenty of wire on the end to connect it to your harness, but I'd want to check to be sure. Just let me know which one it is, color of connector would be what I need. A pic would definately help if possible.

Remember that time we talked on the phone forever trying to figure out what that white connector went to? We both had our fuel bowls removed LOL

I was just thinking that. White plug, couldn't figure it out. I was staring at the wiring harness, could naild down every sensor that the connector went to except for that one. LOL.

this is my first try at a forum; thanks all for the reply. I broke down today and called a couple junk yards found one from 03 1ton van [with over 600,000 miles I think it was a DHL van] took 3 dollars and about 15 minutes to replace. Good as new,Hope I get 600,000....orezona; the truck would not start or run with these unplugged,I tried to jump the two wires- no luck,if I shook the wires while it was idling it would die [before repair]it never showed a fault code or water in fuel light. shook the he-- out of the new one ran fine... jtharvy thanks for the offer
