Actually, I think it's 10-14-08, just another month!! You'd HATE to have it "go bad" on you, so just bring it on up to me, and I'll dispose of it properly for you!
Kidding aside, I found the same sort of date on my 51, just about the same place. Wonder if it was on the metal BEFORE stamping, or put on AFTER stamping, to keep the wrong ones from being used? Reckon we'll never know, but I was curious, too, then decided not to worry about it, and primered over it...
