A lot is going to depend on how heavy your foot is. If you like to dig deep into the program you will need premium.

I will tell you with mine in my 250 level 2, if I run 89 on the 87 program I get better MPG. Also I have the timing up a degree or two, I have dropped the max RPM for shifting. From 5300 to 5000 on first shift. That way if I'm in it it does not lag. There are a few things you can do to change your mpg, you just have to try things. Oh and try to stay a little bit behind a car or another vehicle. That helps the air flow over the truck better and makes the engine work not as hard. Well in my case since I am lifted it works for me. With my 35s and stock gears in the 250 I am stuck around 13-15. Now it has gone higher then that but it has been on the highway and I have been cruising with some truckers and got about 17-18
