Thinking about ordering a set of L&L chassis exit headers for my '76 F350, supercab, 460/C6. Will I need to cross over to the passenger side of the truck, aft of the driver's side collector, and run the pipes down the right side of the truck? I have the midtank on the left side. OEM set up had two head pipes merging into one on the right side. Planning to have pipes exit in front of the rear wheels, regardless, but would like to avoid doing the "cross-over" if possible/practical.

Thanks in advance for your comments/suggestions

That fuel tank is going to pose a problem if you want to run fender well exit headers and avoid the cross over pipe, another possibilty would be to have the pipes exit at the rear of the cab, short of relocating that tank or running a cross over pipe it's the only way i can see fender well exit headers working for you.

As I stated in my original post, I want to use chassis exit headers NOT fenderwell exit. According to L&L, fenderwell exit headers on a '76 F350 require a 3-inch body lift. You may be correct, regardless, i.e., no way to run an exhaust pipe down the left side with that mid tank.

I thought you were refering to fender well exit headers as in the pic below, they do not require a body lift, maybe some slight trimming of your inner fender well but certainly not a body lift.

I crossed the driver side pipe over to the right side, couldn't see much way around it with the tank taking up all the space between the driveshaft and framerail.

Thanks for the reply, Fastfarmer. I've pretty much come to the same conclusion--just not enough room on the driver's side to route the pipe.
