lookin for 5 spd
i am lookin for a 5spd for my 69f100 it has a 289 out of a 66 mustang and a 4spd now, lookin to lose the 4spd and get a 5spd
what should i look for or what would have one that i could swap over

Simplest swap is to Mustang T5. Find one from a V8. Cobra V8 has lowest V8 first gear, 3.35 iirc.
Get an adaptor to bolt it to your bell, fiddle with the cross member and adjust the driveshaft.
You may have to use a Chev S10 tailshaft housing to move your shifter forward.

These folks sell the adaptor and anything else you need. They also sell new transmissions. In the past, they had some used ones but have not seen any of late.
For ID info, check this out. You don't want a 4 cylinder Mustang trans:

There are other options. The Mazda and ZF transmissions used in later trucks are stronger and have a wider ratio spread. They also have integral bells and require a hydraulic clutch, vs. using your existing set up with the T5. Note the OD in the T5 is pretty tall, which will allow you to run shorter gears which your 289 and clutch will be happy about.
