I'm planning on putting remote door locks on my truck in the next few weeks, and power windows after that. My question is,on the 80-86 F-150's w/o power doors or windows,is there a harness already there that I can hook into? I plan on using Autoloc kits:
I haven't used that stuff before, but I can give you some info on the harness. My truck had no PW/PL but I swapped some doors with them from a 1990 F-250 onto my truck. There is a harness that runs between the doors that isn't on the non power trucks. Ideally it would have plugged into the rest of the truck harness but since my doors were a different generation, the plugs were different. I just installed an extra fuse block with properly rated circuit breakers.
Thats explains it then. The harness between the doors plugged into the main harness behind the driver side kick panel. I assume I didn't have the plug that went from there to the fuse block? Oh well, I needed the extra fuse block anyhow, had way to many extras running to be plugging everything into the factory block.
Just to sidetrack a bit, but hopefully not too much... Do the power windows have any limit switches to cut the motor when the window is up or down or does it just rely on the c/b tripping when the motor stalls?
