I have a squeaky suspension when going over bumps. I would assume that it would be the leaf spring bushings. I am looking to replace them.
Also, when I cut the wheel to make a turn, when I start to make the turn there will be a distinct single clunk under the front. I would like to believe that this is the track bar bushings.
Before I go and replace these items, are there any thoughts as to another source?
Also can I remove the leaf spring bushings by hand or do they have to be pressed out? The leaf springs are stock with an add-a-leaf.
i also have both noises.the suspension squeek is awful in while driving slow in campgrounds.the clunk i get when turning out of my driveway every morning.hopefully somebodys got an easy answer.
I got a clunk like that too. I only got 18K on my '06 so I *hope* it's not ball joints... yet. Unfortunately there's about a hundred things that can cause a clunk in that case, from a sticky caliper to just a spring unloading... can be hard to find....
not an H/D but I get the same clunk. It started after I put the cap on the truck. It seems like the added weight and body roll exposes the clunk.
Will the clunk radiate through the truck and sound like its coming from the back? I've been chasing the cluck for a while now. I've sourced it to the rear shackles(I think) I was able to tighten them quite a bit. Now they squeak but the clunk is gone for now.
I've had a clunk since my truck was new (03 F250 Crew 4X4). The dealer has not been able to find it. Since then both front hubs and all 4 ball joints have been replaced. The clunk is worst now when going over bumps. I'm wondering if the dealer left something loose when they installed the plow before I took delivery. It almost sounds like a loose shock but they're fine.
