just a quick question does anybody know if it's possible to get an integrated key for my 2005 SD that would incorporate both the actual key and the wirelss remote as well? kind of like other car makers have been doing for ages.....
also...totally unrelated question wahat would be the stopping distance 60-0 for a F350 4x4 PSD CC SB? 150-160ft?
I know you can go to Lowe's and get a key made that will not start your truck, but will open the doors. Once you figure it out, you can do a reverse security set up. I have done that. Simply, leave the dumb key in a mag box that gets you into the truck, then leave the smart key, hid somewhere inside the truck. That way it is tough to lock yourself out, without having to buy a spare $100.00 key.
Thanks.....i don't really care about locking myself out, that is what the keypad on the door is for (about 85% of the time i just leave the keys in truck and open/close with the keypad)
I just wanted to get something integrated that would look a little better....like the ones Audi/VW have...
I think you misunderstood him rmosso1, He is looking to buy a key that has the remote keyless entry fob built into the head of the key itself, instead of having the regular key and seperate remote keyless entry fob.
I'm fairly certain a guy I know from work was able to find one for his Super Duty. I will see if I can find out where he got it, and what the part number was.
Just talked to my coworker. He bought the Key off ebay. It was for a Ford 500, Taurus, Edge. Works fine with his truck though.
