I have been looking for a complete steering column like the one you got from the junkyard for a long time now. Would you be interested in selling it? PM me.
I looked for you today and found 2-3 but they were all real sloppy.
There is another place that I'm going to try tomorrow. I'll let you know what I find.
FWIW: There is a slight difference in the column with the AOD, it has the D with the White background signifying over drive. I still don't know what's different about the column though if any.
There's no difference in the column....there are different shift connecting rods between the column and transmission depending on the engine, and the shift indicator looks different, but has the same number of shift points.

That's what I thought, but in LARIAT 85's original post he was pretty sure that there was a difference.
The difference is in the wiring connector. From what I have been told, if you try to use a C6 column assembly for an AOD truck, the wiring isn't compatable and truck will not even move. Sounds crazy I know, but several sources have told me the same thing.
Nah...the wiring is the same...I just put a donor column from a C6 in my AOD truck about 5 months ago and everything plugged and played just fine. It would be completely contradictory to everything Ford did with plug and play harnesses if the column wiring were different. What they may be talking about is the subtle differences bewteen ignition switches in different year trucks, but I've never heard of that difference causing a truck not to run either.

The engine was out of a 86 Bronco so I guess it had a EFI 302 the engine was gone from it.
There's also 109 u-pull-it near Winston. Need any thing special? I'm going to check out one here in NY this week. I hate to go there because I usually end up with a truck full of "must have" goodies.

Hey Polarisman, went to college in Oswego, had fun during the 66 storm. I usually go to the Horseheads pick-a-part. They usually have a better selection than Auburn.
