i just bought a 68 F350 service truck, some one put a 90's style seat in it and it just don't sit right with a gas tank style cab, im looking for a original seat. what years would still be orig. for it? its a cool old truck, believe it or not but it only has 21,000 original miles. it was a maintance truck for the Carolina packers, and never went any were. lots of leaks, and the engine on the inside is dirty as hell from it never heating up and getting good circulation.but it runs good and its something to work with. if anyone around my area has a seat that would be cool. jounston co. n.c.
Dave, Someone might have installed the seat without changing out the floor mounts. Floor mounts are the same from 65 to 79. Installing a newer seat on the correct mounts should not sit badly. IMO
it seems there the orig brackets but the fuel tank cab seats dont have backing i beleive.regardless i want the orig they look nicer to me, i was just wondering what years resemble my 68?
67 to 72 are the years your truck ran, but the 73 to 79 seats i bet are the same (or close enough), but i would look at 67 to 72 first, there should be a TON out there as putting in newer seats is very comon. i have one in my back yard but i am in Cali and about 3000 miles away, not worth shipping trust me, try junk yards, or you can buy "new" seats that match the OEM ones from the aftermarket.
