E 350 wiring blues

I need help! I recently purchased a 2005 E-350 super duty for my handyman business. I am trying to hook up the trailer brakes. I had no problem finding the plug to plug in the brake controller but for the life of me I can not find the wire that needs to go to the back. Can anyone tell me where the little rascal is hidden. I can trace it up to the area it goes through the firewall but have had no luck finding it after that.
Would appreciate any help.

I know nothing about SD vans but....

...if you found the plug for the brake controller, that'd indicate that the vehicle was equipped with the tow package.

If that's the case and it didn't come with the trailer receptacles already installed at the back bumper or hitch, I'd look in THAT area for another plug that's not connected to anything.

I may be out in left field here but won't have my feelings hurt when I'm corrected.

Prosut,
I indeed found the plug at the back of the van, but all that was was the 4 prong plug for lights. There is no wire there for the brakes. I installed a brake controller on a 2005 F250 and found the brake wire along the frame rail but have had no luck there. Thanks for the input.

I was adding another 7-pin plug for our fifthwheel and while messing with the wiring back there noticed a wire unconnected and basically "taped" into the harness where the other wires came out. It wasn't a brake wire since that went already to the existing 7-pin plug. I suspect it was for the backup lights on the trailer.

Could you have a brake wire taped into the harness where the wires for the 4-pin exit the harness?

Phrosut,
I have looked into the wiring harness several places from the front to the rear bumper and have found nothing. That is what makes the process so frustrating. Thanks again for the ideas.

Well, dang!

If you can stop by my house Saturday I'll give you a hand. I still believe if the plug was installed at the factory for your brake controller then there should be a wire for the trailer brakes somewhere near the back of the van.

We can both wish someone with a van would join this thread with a good answer.
