Stock Battery Gauge
Is it common for the stock Battery gauge to go bad? I had electrical issues and it worked before all the trouble. Anyway it's stuck in the center. I took the dash apart and messed with it with no luck.
It's a 85 shortbed 4x4 351 the stock gauge reads D for dead, and C for charge.
2nd option is the 3 gauge cluster that has volt/water/ oil, but have NO idea how to wire it up.

Sorry, yeah it reads charge.....when I was having all the odd electrical issues i noticed it was stuck dead center....don't know if the guage itself is trashed or wiring issue, which my truck seems to have alot of

How about option #3- get another one out of a junkyard? Just for the record, D stands for discharging, anytime the needle swings past straight up in that direction it means you are using more amps than your alternator can supply. And C is for charging, past straight in that direction means your alternator is supplying more than you are using.
