The reflashes are for PSD trucks built before 8/3/2007. I have a Job #1 2008 PSD and have had it in for the 2 reflash updates. The main updates corrected the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) to give better tranny shifting, adding Regen messages, no Regen during idle and EGR disable function at idle is now determined by exhaust temperature and not idle time.

If another reflash comes out I will be getting it. I'm sure the later job #3 trucks all have the PCM updated. The reflashes are a result of changes to correct earlier PCM calibration problems.

I had the reflash outline in TSB 07-17-3, and later superseded by TSB 08-13-2 which updated TSB 07-17-3. With the reflashes, the PCM is reprogrammed to the latest service calibrations.

Most of the Job #2 and all of the Job #3 trucks should have updated PCM's.

There has been some resistances to have the reflash done in the earlier job #1 PSD trucks but I am very happy with the improvements from the reflashes.

I've had 2 flashes with the last being the latest. It stopped the regen at idle which I like and don't know if its the flash or just more miles and being broke in but the mileage keep coming up, not pulling I'm seeing as high as 19.2

It's worth it (the reflash) and other than the time it takes it is paid for by Ford. My F450 job#1 truck seemed to run better with more pep after my reflash. I have to wait and see about the mileage increase I don't drive it very much.
I am glad Ford and International are continuing to work on software to help those who stuck there neck and money out to buy a new 6.4 motor to power a proven winner in a truck!

Is there a regen light in the dash that comes on during regen? I don't have that.

The Instrument cluster (IC) message center will display the Regen messages in all job #3 PSD trucks. Some early Job #2 and all Job#1 trucks doesn't have the Regen messages unless the reflash in TSB 07-17-3 has been performed. The messages are: Stop safely now, engine warming, drive to clean exhaust filter, cleaning exhaust filter and exhaust filter drive complete.

You may have to scroll through the message center reset to see Regen messages when you suspect Regen is happening.
