Hi guys, my name is Hans (that user name was taken?), I live in Northern CA and am a contractor. My main workhorse is a 2001, F-350, dually that I've had since early 2002, it was a lease return with 19K on it. I've got 142K on it now and the only real problem I've had was a blown transmission at about 60K (you'd know it, the warranty ran out at 60K). Have a minor irritant with it now (service engine light) that I'll take to the appropriate board. All in all, it's been a great truck. BTW, have two L-8000's, but that's a different story
Hi and welcome Hans.
Unfortunately I don`t live in CA, I`m in Saskatchewan, Canada that`s about 1,800-2,000 miles north of you. I`m a contractor too and I have two L-8000's too-an 86 tandem and an 88 single axle, both dump trucks that are used in my Bobcat service.
Enjoy FTE and we`ll see you in the forums.
Thanks for the welcome Morris. The L-8000's look like this '96s:
Let me correct one overstatement though. I've got one L-8000 on the road; the other one is at the junk yard. Recently had a passenger side, front tire explode on me and rode it into a concrete, sound barrier wall at 60 mph. Also have an '88 GMC on the road.
