Heres my latest project

I am hoping this stays in this section since this is the only place I post on the ocaisions that I do. Im always in here reading though, at least once a day.

I spent the last 3 days making this overhead console for my truck. I had the regular one in there but I wanted to fit in my monitor for the computer and its also the screen for my backup camera. Its not 100% done yet, nothing is hooked up yet but its made and hung in the rafters so im almost there. The spots where there are switches, those are temorary. I have 7 Contura lighted switches that are going in there. Im just waiting on the mailman to deliver those. The factory overhead digital display is up above the monitor there, I need to extend the wires a foot to plug that in. Next weekend ill finish everything up!

I wanted the wood/conversion van look and im very happy with it!!

Sorry for the crappy pics, they were taken with my phone, the digi cam is charging.

That looks pretty good. Did you have to cut out the headliner to get the screen in there?

Nice job! Looks great, almost factory IMO (I only say almost because the factory would have it carpeted and not in wood).

Thanks everyone!

I have been hustlin this idea in my head all summer and on friday after work I took down the stock console to take a look. Didnt realize how much room there was between the roof and headliner! Once I saw that I got enough motivation to get it done.

I had to cut a VERY small part of the headliner but if I ever have to return the truck to stock the factory console SHOULD cover the cut part. If not, then I would probably just leave that one in the cieling.

Now I just need AE, that would be sweet to have tucked up in the roof like that! haha

Oh a Name....... "Knock on Wood"? hows that? lol

This is definately a one off!

I have commited to making things/replicas before and it normally ended up in a disaster. I stay pretty busy so I would have a hard time commiting to anything. OR maybe you can heat my garage and ill make anything you want during the winter in between snows!
