Alternator wiring - testing
Hi All, I have a problem with my alternator not charging my battery. I have replaced most components. I would like to know how to test the wires from the alernator to battery and alternator to voltage regulator, etc. I am novice at this so any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Rick

Not knowing the year model, it is still safe to say you should have battery voltage at all wires that hook to the alternator (accept for the old models with a ground wire present), while the key is on. Most troubles with no voltage at the alternator is because of an open fuseable link at the starter sloenoid. Another problem area is the voltage regulator pigtail.
