I'm almost to the point of pulling my hair out trying to get everything ready to import my '79. You'd think they would be less strict with a 29 year old truck coming in...
I have to pull the 302 that's in it; pull my 300 out of my '78 and put it in the '79, get it running good enough for emissions etc; fix various rust spots on the body; pull the windshield and replace it; check that all the suspension parts are operational; do brakes; put a tailpipe on; check all lights around the truck; and probably more I'm forgetting. Oh, and I have to do all this in 45 days or else they come and tow it back to the US at my cost and I could not import it again if I tried.
Should be interesting. . . I think it will be worth it in the end.
Wow looks like you have some work ahead of you. I forgot about that out of province inspection stuff. Isn't there an age thing for the emissions testing? I would think that's too old for it.
I got myself one of those washable furnace filters last year, and I figured since I'm gonna be turning it on next week, I'd wash it.
Took about 15 minutes, it's still dirty. Not clogged or anything, but it has fine dog hair stuck on the "dirty" side. I might have to take it in to work tomorrow and blow it out with compressed air. We'll see how that works out.

Could be, I'll find out after the Registrar of Imported Vechicles sends me a letter saying exactly what I need to do.
Brought #2 home today. Everything went over smoothly at border, and get this...
they told me no inspection is needed for fed/provincial... I paid GST at customs, and I will have to pay PST at ICBC agent, and that's it... apparently. Sounds too good to be true to me, but we will find out soon enough. Would be pretty nice if it worked out that way though.
