Cruise Control...HELP!!!!

LAST EDITED ON 16-Oct-00 AT 05:53 PM (EST)[p]The Cruise Control on my 87 f-250 hasn't worked since i got the truck two years ago. The guy i got it from has no idea about it either, so i turn to you. Is there a way i could check it to see if maybe it was unplugged? is this a common problem? what should i do first? Thanks !!!!
P.S. I can press the buttons all day on the steering wheel and i get no response, not even a light or anything!

Cruise Control...HELP!!!!

Cruise control problems can be tricky. I would first check out the fuses in the system. Then probably the vacuum to the actuator. Then move on to the shut-off switch on the brake pedal. If none of that helps try swapping the cruise control module with a known good one.

You may also want to check for continuity at the steering wheel switch and at the multi-function switch plug comming from the steering column. Remove the steering wheel pad and see if the wiring is broken or for corosion at the terminal.
